Leagues — run a season with rounds and standings

Leagues let a group of anglers compete across multiple rounds with a running points table — ideal for syndicate seasons, club challenges, or fishing with a regular group of mates. Each round's result feeds into a standings table across the full season.

Creating a league

Go to Social → Leagues → Create
Set a league name
Configure the league settings:
- Total Rounds — 1 to 10 rounds
- Max Members — 2 to 16 anglers
- Default Venue — Suggested venue for each round; can be changed round by round
- Points System — See Points Systems below

Points Systems

Choose how the league awards points after each round. This cannot be changed once the league is created.

Placing (NFA Official) Each angler scores points equal to their finishing position: 1st = 1pt, 2nd = 2pts, 3rd = 3pts, and so on. The angler with the lowest cumulative points at the end of all rounds wins the league. Mirrors traditional UK match and specimen league formats.

Participation (Club/Federation) All anglers who fish a round receive 10 base points. Bonus points for finishing position: 20 for 1st, 18 for 2nd, 16 for 3rd, and so on. Highest total wins. Good for specimen groups where participation is as important as results.

Fixed A descending points table: 15, 12, 10, 8, 6, 4, 3, 2, 1. Simple and clear for small leagues.

Inviting members

Share the league link or invite friends directly from the league screen. Invited friends join immediately — no approval step needed.

Starting the league

The creator taps Start League once at least two members have joined. The league cannot start with fewer than two participants.

Submitting a round

Each member links one session to represent their result for a round:

Open the league and go to the current round
Tap Link Session
Pick a qualifying session

After each round, the league creator taps Close Round. This saves the round result, updates the standings table, and advances to the next round number. The standings table shows each angler's cumulative score and overall league position across all completed rounds.

Adding a bot

Add a bot member to fill odd-numbered groups or to test the league format. Bots generate a simulated round result and are clearly labelled in the standings.
